About the Artist

Agnes Fisher was born in The Netherlands and then grew up in New Jersey. Her Dutch heritage is reflected how she signs her art (“Akke”) as well as in some of her subject matter.

Ms. Fisher earned her bachelor's degree from Calvin College, majoring in English with a minor in Art. She took further art courses in the Upper Peninsula as well as in galleries on the East Coast. Ms. Fisher taught art at the secondary level for over 40 years in both public and private schools. She also taught at Atlantic Cape Community College from 2012-2016, where she was honored with a one-woman retrospective show from November 2015-February 2016.

Ms. Fisher’s works cover a broad range of styles, from Impressionism to abstract to contemporary. Her art has been exhibited in multiple galleries throughout the United States, including Agora Gallery in Soho NY; Washington Square Gallery in Holland, MI; Bousard-Hui Gallery in West Caldwell, NJ; and Armstrong Degraaf in Saugatuck, MI. Her works have been sold internationally, both in The Netherlands and Greece.

Ms. Fisher is retired and currently resides in Holland, Michigan.
